Our youth are not considered a youth group; they are the church.  We do not try to isolate young people from the adults, but we encourage them to recognize that the Bible is for them.  Special classes are taught to the youth on Sunday morning.

The ministry to the youth of Calvary Baptist Church is a ministry of discipleship including the following convictions:

1. Verse-by-verse teaching from the Word of God.

2. A fellowship of brothers and sisters in Christ to encourage and lift one another up.  This is not only the youth encouraging one another, but the youth as a part of the whole of the church.

3. A servant to the parents of the youth, as they are the primary teacher in the lives of their youth; we are only a helper in this endeavor.

In 2011, we began integrating curriculum from Desiring God Ministries for our children.  You can read about this Gospel Centered Curriculum here and a description is below.

Man is not the key player in history; God is the engineer of all life, and His purposes are fulfilled throughout history. These 40-week studies purposefully present God as the main character in each lesson, rather than dwelling on man and man’s needs. Therefore, each lesson focuses on the magnificent character of the One who can satisfy all our longings. Showing children the greatness of God gives them a basis to respond to Him. This material presents a great God who is worthy to be admired and imitated.
